I used the pattern in the Knit Wit book, but I tweaked it a little bit. I think it still needs a bit of work, but I will post what I did here.
Materials needed:
worsted weight cotton yarn (you want cotton so when you get ice cream all over it, you can toss it in the washer. just make sure you use the cold cycle or it will shrink!)
one set US 7/4.5mm double pointed needles
yarn needle
an empty, washed out, pint container of Ben & Jerry's ice cream
Gauge: 12 sts/20 rows = 3" in stockinette stitch
CO 52 sts.
Divide evenly onto 3 dpns. (I did 17, 17, 18).
Join and knit one row.
Work in 2x2 rib for 6 rows (*K2, P2*, rep from * to beg of round).

Using yarn needle, thread yarn through the 7 rem sts, pulling closed through inside of the cozy.
Weave in ends.
Wet cozy with warm water, stretch over empty ice cream pint container.
Let dry.
Enjoy!
